Avalon Airport: Geelong's great game changer
Avalon Airport CEO, Justin Giddings, outlined just some of the ways that the commencement of international flights by Air Asia at the airport later this way will change our region at the Geelong Business Network breakfast on April 12.
With flights to be priced in the ballpark of $150 to Kuala Lumpur, the initial 500,000 international visitors coming through Avalon is expected to swell to close to 1 million in as little as 3 to 4 years.
Breakfast sponsor and Director of Moore Stephens Victoria, Paul Robson, said the potential for boosting business is enormous, from a crying need for more accommodation, to the export potential for Victoria's small producers. And, as President of Surfing Victoria, Paul can see plenty of opportunities to get visitors from South East Asia at our beaches and up on a board.
