Billy & Roxie Get Their GAWS On

Geelong Cats champ Billy Brownless and GAWS Brand Ambassador, Roxie Bennett were hands on at the GAWS (Geelong Animal Welfare Society) veterinary clinic to launch its Appeal to raise urgently needed funds for an X- ray machine and anaesthetic unit.

“GAWS is extremely fortunate to have a dedicated team of highly skilled vets and vet nurses on site to provide the urgent and non-urgent treatment for the animals that come into our care. This includes surgical treatments and health checks plus all animals are de-sexed, vaccinated and micro-chipped ensuring they are vet ready for their new forever homes," said GAWS CEO Adrian Buckley.

"GAWS animal shelter receives no government funding and relies on the generous support of the community to deliver this vital work. We thank all those who enable our work and who share our commitment and vision to give all animals a second chance, because every life is precious.”

Donations can be made by going to the GAWS website at, by sending a cheque to GAWS or in person at 325 Portarlington Road, Moolap. All donations to GAWS are tax deductable.
