Managing Director, Barwon Water
Barwon Water has welcomed the organisation’s new Managing Director on board this week.
Tracey Slatter was appointed to the role in October last year. A highly qualified senior executive, Ms Slatter has more than two decades of experience gained in local government and the Victorian public service, including previous roles Chief Executive Officer at Colac Otway Shire and Head of Claims at the TAC. Most recently, she was Chief Executive Officer at the City of Port Phillip.
Barwon Water Chairman, Jo Plummer, said Ms Slatter brought with her the skills and experience to lead the organisation into a new era of change and opportunity.
“This is a crucial role in guiding and leading the corporation through what is expected to be a challenging – but exciting – period,” Ms Plummer said.
“While customer affordability and customer service will remain priorities, there will be a stronger focus on climate change, further regional growth, liveability, environmental stewardship, community engagement and diversity in the workplace,” she said.
Minister for Water Lisa Neville also welcomed Ms Slatter’s appointment, pointing to the key role Barwon Water has in promoting liveability and economic growth in the region.
Ms Slatter joins the water authority at a time when the organisation has a number of key projects underway, including the 2018 pricing submission, Colac water supply upgrade and Barwon Water’s $29 million head office redevelopment in Ryrie Street, which is scheduled for completion by mid-2017.
